Before I became a coach, I coached and worked on myself, and brought about my transformation. Today, I’m helping thousands of people realise their power to do the same. And to tell you the truth, I still book an appointment with myself, almost every quarter, wherein I reflect upon my journey and remind myself of some truths, truths that the media asks us to overlook and the society is scared to admit.
If you’re here and reading this, know that you have it in you to transform yourself, lead a rich life and become your own coach. This blog encapsulates some of the truths you may need do remind yourself time and again, just like I do.
- To Err is Human
“The most valuable thing you can make is a mistake – you can’t learn anything from being perfect.” – Adam Osborne
We are all humans here, which means that we are not immune to mistakes. Therefore, holding a grudge against yourself isn’t such a great idea. Know that you could have done some things that you’re not proud of or didn’t expect from yourself yet choose to accept and respect yourself. If unintentional, making even horrible mistakes is Perfectly Okay! It’s part of our human experience.
Keep a healthy ‘growth’ mindset, see mistakes as a opportunity to improve, learn what is needed and move on!
- YOU’RE EXACTLY WHERE YOU WERE MEANT TO BE
“No matter where you are on your journey, that’s exactly where you need to be. The next road is always ahead!”-Oprah Winfrey
One of the biggest reasons for unhappiness is that we want to be somewhere other than where we are. We tend to put our happiness off to some future moment in time, and this makes it really hard to enjoy our life.
You don’t have to feel guilty for not being where you thought you would be at this point in your life. Life sometimes has different plans for us and we must learn to accept it. If you’re making efforts and not giving up, know that you will soon reach where you want to!
- YOU’RE EXACTLY WHO YOU WERE MEANT TO BE
Do NOT let others define you. You are exactly who you were meant to be!
Honestly, it’s easy to get so caught up in what others say and we begin to see ourselves in that light. Don’t lose sight of who you truly are and the unique qualities you’ve built within yourself.
Our ideologies, our perspectives change with time and exposure to things and situations we didn’t think we would face. And sometimes it completely transforms us.
If you’ve become a better human in your eyes, it’s good to embrace the change even if it means losing the version of you, you had always believed to be.
- PEOPLE LEAVE.
Everyone leaves. Everyone eventually leaves, either by choice or by circumstances. Whether or not we want to, we have to learn to part ways, and the sooner we accept this, sooner we can move on with our lives.
And you know what? You’re allowed to be messy when someone leaves, it only says how much you valued the ones leaving.
- IT’S OKAY TO OUTGROW PEOPLE!
If people can leave, you can leave too. It doesn’t make you a bad human. It only reiterates the fact that you respect yourself enough to find happiness.
When leaving, just remember how you would want to be left, and offer that comfort to the ones you leave.
- YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING FIGURED OUT
You don’t have to have your life planned out and everything set. It’s okay to not have everything figured out. Life is a journey, not a destination. And a few stops on the way will only make the destination more memorable and exciting. Just cherish the journey and move forward and remember everything is FIGURE-OUT-ABLE.
- GRADES AND DEGREES DON’T DEFINE YOUR WORTH
“Your age doesn’t define your maturity, your grades don’t define your intelligence and rumors don’t define who you are!”
YOU define your worth! Not your parents, not your partner, not your degree, and not your job or your grades but YOU.
The way you see yourself is the way others will have to learn to see you!
No matter how well engraved these lessons are in our memory, we all need to brush up every now and then to get back up stronger.
